Boot Camp will enable Mac users to install Microsoft Windows operating system on their Mac that can run Windows games like they would normally run on a Windows PC. If a game, like Civilization VI, does not have a Mac version yet, Mac users can install Boot Camp, an application that would allow Mac users to run Windows-only games on their Mac. If the games bought from Steam have Mac support, the game can be instantly played on Mac and that automatically gives it Microsoft Windows compatibility.

Also of note is the fact that this patch brings the Mac version back in sync with the PC version, meaning cross-platform multiplayer has been re-enabled. Developer Firaxis Games confirms that Aspyr Media will be developing Civilization VI for Mac and it might come out shortly after the game comes out for Microsoft Windows on October 21, 2016.
